ONE NOTORIOUS ROBBER CUM SNATCHER ARRESTED
With
the arrest of one notorious Robber-cum-Snatcher namely Prakash aged 19 years s/o Karan Singh r/o
Lohewali Company, Okhla Industrial Area-II, New Delhi, the staff of AATS/SE District
has solved sixteen cases of robbery and snatching of South-East District,
Delhi. 10 Mobile phones have been recovered from his possession.
TEAM
& OPERATION
For
the last few months, a spurt was noticed in the incidents of snatching of begs
and mobile phones by motorcycle borne person in South-East Distt. Therefore,
the staff of AATS/SED was tasked to pin down the criminals and a team led by Inspr.
Mukesh Kumar I/C AATS/SED consisting of SI Yashpal, ASI Mahipal, HC Avdhesh, HC Viju, HC
Bijender Ct. Arvind, Ct. Vikram, Ct. Nahar and Ct. Joginder was formed under
the supervision of Shri Ashok Saroha ACP/Operation/South East District, Delhi.
The
team worked relentlessly and collected details of the criminals with similar
modus-operandi and detailed several informers to collect the information about the
snatchers active in the district. On 01.12.15, a secret information was
received that one boy would come at Nehru Place on a motorcycle. Acting upon this
information, a trap was laid near T-point
Ram Piyau, Nehru Place, Near Kalkaji Tample and at about 7 PM, one boy riding on an Apache motorcycle was
apprehended at the instance of informer. He was identified as Praksah r/o Lohewali Company, OIA-II, Delhi.
He was carrying a bag and on searching
the bag, 10 mobile phones were recovered but he could not give any satisfactory
reply for possession of these mobile phones. On further verification, four of
these mobile phones were found stolen in different cases of South-East
District.
INTERROGATION
The
accused person was subjected to sustained interrogation in which he disclosed
that earlier, he collected waste articles from streets and sold to Kabadi.
Thereafter, he came in contact with some bad elements of his locality and he started
snatching of mobiles/begs from the passersby on the roads on his motorcycle. He
also started stealing items from houses. On the day of his arrest, he had come
to Nehru Place to sell these mobile phones. He has no previous criminal record.
However, on the basis of his disclosure and mobile phones recovered from his
possession, following 16 cases of snatching and robbery have been solved. His
motorcycle has also been seized.

PROFILE
Prakash is a school
dropped out and belongs to a poor family.
He is unemployed and used to collect polythene, iron pieces, papers etc.
from street. He came in contact with
some bad elements in the locality and started committing crime.
