Sensational Blind Murder Case of PS Civil Lines Solved

With the arrest of three accused persons namely Mohd. Shanawaz s/o Sh. Abdul Qayum r/o H.No. 9822, Gali Zameer Wali, Nawab Ganj, Azad Market, Delhi-6, Shahbaz s/o Hayat Ali r/o B-848, Gali No.-8, Jahangir Puri, Delhi, and Sonu s/o Ramesh Chand r/o H.No. B-428, Jahangir Puri, Delhi, Sensational Murder occured at Kamla Nehru Ridge Park, Opposite Ajeet Garh Water works    has been solved.

INCIDENT

            On 01.02.2016, after a PCR Call, Local police reached Kamla Nehru Ridge, opposite Ajeet Water works, near Barf Khana and found a dead body of a boy apparently having stab injuries over his neck and upper part of the chest. He was wearing  blue jeans, black and red checked shirt and blue jacket. Jacket, shirt and baniyan were blood smeared. There was a pool of blood beneath his head. On personal search, one “Adhaar” card was recovered and deceased was identified as Mohd. Anas Qureshi s/o Mohd. Ayub Qureshi r/o H.No. 9822, Gali Jameer Wali, 1st floor, Nawab Ganj Market, Delhi. Scene of crime was inspected by the Crime Team and exhibits were seized by the police.

INVESTIGATION/INTERROGATION/TEAM

          Keeping in view the sensitivity of the case, 4 team were constituted under the supervision of ACP/Civil Lines & ACP/OPS under overall supervision of Addl. DCP-II, North Distt. The technical surveillance was also initiated from the mobile recovered from the deceased. It was found that the  real uncle of the deceased namely Mohd. Shanawaz was in constant touch with the deceased on his mobile on 31.01.16, when the murder took place. On further examination, it was found that another person was also in constant touch with deceased. On further examination, it was found that this person was also in constant touch with uncle of deceased Shanawaz. Shanawaz  was interrogated, but he was continuously changing his statement. On sustained interrogation, he broke up and confessed his involvement in the above incident. He disclosed that he was suffering losses in his business and he urgently needed money. His sister in law (Bhabhi) namely Rubina, who is step mother of the deceased told Shanawaz that Anas (deceased) would be one of the legal heir of the property of her late husband and she was fed up with the activities of Anas (deceased) and wanted to get rid off him. She offered Rs. 10 lacs to Shanawaz to eliminate Anas (deceased). Out of which 5 lacs was meant for the contract killer and 10 lacs for Shanawaz. As, Shanawaz desperately needed money, he accepted the offer. Shahnawas was running fruit business at Azadpur Fruits Market and was in touch with Shahbaz & Sonu (both were labourer at fruit market). They managed new phones and sim cards to execute their plan. On 31.01.16, they decided to eliminate Anas (deceased) in the evening time. At about 9.30 P.M Shanawaz called Anas (deceased) from the managed mobile and asked him to join near Barf Khana chowk, Subzi Mandi. They offered coffee to Anas (deceased) mixed with sleeping pills. After some time all the three accused took him to Kamla Nehru Ridge, opposite Ajeet Garh Water Works. At Kamla Nehru Ridge, when Anas (deceased) started getting under the influence of sleeping pills, all the three accused first strangulated him with a plastic rope and stabbed Anas (deceased) with ice poker and knife. Thereafter, they threw away poker, knife and plastic rope. Three accused have been arresed in the above said case, wherease a team has been dispatched to Amroha to arrest Rubina as the last rites of the deceased were to be performed there. Further investigation is under way.

PROFILE OF ACCUSED PERSONS

1. Mohd. Shanawaz s/o Sh. Abdul Qayum r/o H.No. 9822, Gali Zameer Wali, Nawab Ganj, Azad Market, Delhi-6.

He runs business of fruits at Azadpur Fruit Market. He has studied upto 8th class. Rubina was the second wife of his brother  Mohd. Ayub Qureshi, who expired 8 months back. Rubina was in close touch with him. Rubina often used to make complaint about Anas (step son). Disputes between deceased Anas and Rubina extended to the level that she wanted to get rid off Anas at any cost. As Shahnawas in constant touch with Rubina and desperately needed money, he planned to eliminate Anas for Rs. 10 lacs.

2.    Shahbaz s/o Hayat Ali r/o B-848, Gali No.-8, Jahangir Puri, Delhi.

He works as laborer at Azadpur Fruit Market and used to work for Shanawaz sometimes. To meet his daily needs, his earnings were not sufficient. He also needed money for establishing his business of fruits. Shanawaz offered Rs. 60,000 to murder Anas (deceased). But after committing murder, Shanawas gave only Rs. 2500/- to him.

3. Sonu s/o Ramesh Chand r/o H.No. B-428, Jahangir Puri, Delhi.

He repairs ACs at Shalimar Bagh and he was a friend of Shahbaz from Jahangir Puri. Shahbaz intorduced him to Shanawaz, who offered Rs. 60.000/- to him  for murdering Anas (deceased). His earnings were also not sufficient to meet his daily needs. He with the help of two other accused  killed Anas at Kamla Nehru Ridge, opposite Ajeet Garh Water Works. But after committing murder, Shanawas gave only Rs. 2500/- to him.
