Notorious Robber/Snatcher Sandeep @ Kalia Arrested

In a major breakthrough, Crime Branch has apprehended a notorious robber/snatcher namely Sandeep @ Kalia (29 yrs) s/o Jarnail Singh r/o Hari Enclave, Kirari, Suleman Nagar, Delhi. Two robbed gold chains and one stolen motorcycle and another used in commission of crime have been recovered from him. 11 cases of robbery/snatching of Outer District and one case of auto lifting of South West District have been worked out. He is an absent BC of PS Aman Vihar and figures in the list of top ten criminals of Outer district. He was previously involved and arrested in a MCOCA case of PS Mangol Puri.
TEAM,  INCIDENT AND OPERATION           
     In the wake of the incidents of robbery of chain/purse in Outer & North-West districts by motorcycle borne criminals, a dedicated team of Northern Range of Crime Branch was tasked to develop information about such criminals for nabbing them. A team of Northern Range, consisting of ACP N.K. Meena, Inspr. Ravinder Verma, SI Baljeet Singh, ASI Mahesh, HCs Harvinder, Rampal & Sanjeev was constituted under the supervision of DCP Rajeev Sharma to nab such notorious criminals. A careful study regarding their modus operandi was carried out and manual as well as electronic surveillance was mounted.
     On 01.02.16, secret information was received that one such snatcher Sandeep @ Kalia and his associate Rajkumar would come near Pansali Prahlad Pur Chowk, Shahbad Dairy on stolen motorcycles to sell robbed chains. Accordingly, a trap was laid at the given place where accused Sandeep @ Kali arrived on a Hero Passion motorcycle and Raj kumar arrived on another Yamaha motorcycle. Both the motorcycles did not bear number plates. A raid was immediately conducted and Sandeep @ Kalia was apprehended on the spot whereas Rajkumar r/o Mangol Puri managed to escape abandoning motorcycle. Two gold chains were recovered from the accused Sandeep @ Kalia which were found to be robbed vide FIR No.90/16 & 32/16 of PS KN Katju Marg and Prashant Vihar respectively. The Hero Passion motorcycle recovered from Sandeep @ Kalia was found to be stolen from the area of PS Chhawla vide FIR No.1928/16 u/s 379 IPC, PS Chhawla with original number DL-11SB-8438. The other  motorcycle could not be verified despite efforts.
INTERROGATION & PROFILE: -
        Accused Sandeep @ Kalia is presently residing in Aman Vihar, Delhi and he is an absent BC of PS Aman Vihar. His family members are involved in bootlegging. He also started selling illicit liquor in the area but didn’t find it lucrative and started committing chain snatching. In the year 2004, he was arrested for the first time by Mangol Puri police in a chain snatching case. Thereafter, he did not look back and became a desperate snatcher/robber of Delhi. In the year 2007, he was arrested in case FIR No. 54/2007 u/s 3 (2), 3(4) MCOCA Act, PS Mangol Puri and remained in jail till 2012. He used to spend lavishly and hold regular liquor parties with his associates regularly. He would use stolen as well as motorcycles of their relatives/friends in crime and changed the vehicles frequently to evade apprehension. He is previously involved in about 60 cases of chain snatching, NDPS Act, preparation of dacoity, Arms Act, robbery, MCOCA Act, etc. registered all over Delhi. He was released from jail lastly in October, 2015.

Imposter IPS Officer Arrested; an Academic Who Became a Cheat to Realize His Dream Unfulfilled

A team of Special Cell led by Inspectors Rahul Sawhney and Sanjay Kumar has arrested a cheat who impersonated as an IPS officer to cheat several persons in Delhi. On 23/02/2015,one Kultar Singh,s/o Late Raj Singh, r/o F-10, Gali No.2, Krishna Park, Tilak Nagar, New Delhi who runs a shop dealing with sale purchase of mobile phones in Gaffar Market of Karolbagh, Delhi made a complaint stating therein that a person in the name of ‘Satheesh Nair’ who had introduced himself as an IPS officer of Jaipur, Rajasthan, had come to his shop on 30/01/2015 and had purchased two mobile phones in exchange of two old phones by paying an amount of money.
