Dedicated “Cyber Team” in every Police Station of Delhi
In view of the spurt in cybercrimes in recent years, dedicated
investigating teams referred to as “Cyber Teams” have been constituted in all the
Police Stations of Delhi. The Police Station Cyber Teams will each comprise of
2 Sub- Inspectors and 2 lower subordinates, who shall work under the supervision
of Inspector (Investigation) of the Police Station. In addition to it, a
specialized and dedicated “District Cyber Cell” has also been established in
all the districts of Delhi to aid and assist the PS Cyber Teams. The District
Cyber Cell will be equipped with all the latest gadgets needed for forensic
analysis of Hard Disks and Mobile phones. The PS Cyber Teams will investigate
all the complaints/cases related to social networking sites,
hacking/unauthorized access into emails, complaints related to 419/cheating
scams and complaints related to unauthorized online transaction through
debit/credit cards. For successful & effective functioning of Police
Station Cyber Teams, intensive training has been provided to the members of
these Cyber Teams by the Cyber Crime Cell, EOW. The training included exposure
to technical concepts such as IP logs, Source-Ports etc. and hands-on training
on various steps involved in cyber crime investigation. In addition, a thorough
know how of legal framework governing cyber crime investigations has also been
provided to the Cyber Team IOs. Besides,
a hands-on exposure has been provided on various cyber forensic tools available
for hard disks and mobile devices. With the establishment of Police Station
‘Cyber Teams’ with dedicated and trained investigators, Delhi Police aims to
effectively tackle the growing menace of Cyber Crime.

Police's ‘Online Complaint Lodging System for Economic and Cyber Offences’
Launched Successfully - Conveniences Delhiites Further
Furthering
its quest to move towards complete digitization of procedures, Delhi Police has
successfully launched the Online Complaint Lodging System for Economic &
Cyber Offences, a web-based application. From 25th Feb, 2016 onward one can
lodge complaints related to Economic and Cyber offences online for faster
complaint processing.
The
application endeavors to provide easy, 24X7 accessibility to the public for
remotely lodging their complaints. It also aims to provide prompt status update
to the complainants and to help senior officers monitor the complaints
effectively. Thus, an otherwise laborious process of lodging complaints has
been made extremely swift and easy with this application. It considerably
reduces the time, effort and manpower involved in accomplishing this single
task.
According
to an official statement, the application has been developed under the close
supervision of Joint Commissioner of Police (E.O.W.), Satish Golchha and Deputy
Commissioner of Police (E.O.W.), B.K. Singh with the help of M/s ACSG Corp.
