Sensational & Blind Murder Case of a Youth Solved
With the arrest of two accused
persons Deepak Gera and Praveen Kumar, the sleuths of Police
station Punjabi Bagh/West District have solved a sensational and blind
murder case committed at Pocket-I, Paschim Puri, Punjabi Bagh, Delhi. Weapon of
offence-knife, wallet of the deceased, blood stained pant, shirt of the accused
and motor cycle used in the commission of crime have been recovered.

In the wee hours of 04/07/15,
information was received at Police Post Madipur, Police Station Punjabi Bagh
that a person is lying unconscious in a pool of blood in front of H.No- 154,
Pocket-I, Paschim Puri Delhi. Accordingly, SI Nafe Singh alongwith HC Narender
No-1658/W immediately rushed to the place of occurrence, where one unknown
person aged about 25 years was lying dead in the street in a pool of blood with
multiple stab injuries. Senior officers as well as crime team and dog squad also
arrived at the spot swiftly.
Keeping in view the gravity of the crime,
vigorous efforts were made to establish the identity of the deceased.
Inspection of the crime scene was conducted minutely by the Crime Team.
Photographs of the crime scene were taken. Exhibits were duly lifted and seized
from the place of occurrence. No witness came forward, therefore, a case vide
FIR No-688/15, u/s 302 IPC was registered. After registration of the case
investigation of the case was taken up earnestly by Inspector C.L. Meena, P.S.
Punjabi Bagh.
Since it was a brutal blind
murder of a youth, a special team comprising of Insp. Ishwar Singh, SHO/Punjabi
Bagh, Insp. C.L. Meena, Inspector Investigation/PS Punjabi Bagh, Inspr. S.S.
Rathi- Spl. Staff, West District, SI
Nafe Singh I/C PP Madipur, SI Charan Singh. Spl. Staff, ASI Ishwar Singh, Spl.
Staff, HC Vinod, Spl.Staff, HC Narender, HC Vijay No-493/W, Ct. Naresh No.3151, Spl. Staff, Ct Kuldeep
was constituted under the close supervision of Sh. Harcharan Verma-ACP/Punjabi
Bagh. Sincere efforts were made to identify the deceased. People from the
vicinity were summoned at the spot but nobody could identify the deceased. All
CCTV cameras of the possible escape routes of the assailants were examined but in
vain. Information was sent to various offices like NCRB/R.K Puram, CBI/Lodhi
Road etc. Hue & Cry notices were circulated. Pamphlets with photo of the
deceased were also distributed in the adjoining areas by putting the same in
the newspapers but no clue / information about the identity of the deceased
could be achieved. Fingerprints of the deceased were taken through fingerprints
expert and the same were sent to CRO/Crime Branch through which the identity of
the deceased could be established. He was identified as Rohit @ Kali S/o
Ramesh Handa @ Bhola Nath R/o H.No-E-220, 25 yards near Central School,
Raghubir Nagar Delhi. It was also intimated by CRO after checking the records
that deceased was having involvement in six criminal cases of robbery,
snatching & burglary registered at various Police Stations of Delhi. On
identification of the deceased information about the associates was gathered/ collected.
His associates/friends alongwith other criminals/ budding criminals were
interrogated at length but no clue/information could be achieved.
On 10/07/15, on receipt of a secret
information, a trap was laid at Ghore Wala Mandir, Khyala and both above
mentioned accused persons were nabbed. Initially, both kept on denying their
involvement but on discovery of blood stains on pant of accused Deepak, they
broke down and confessed their involvement in the crime. They disclosed that
deceased Rohit @ Kali had snatched smack from them in Inder Puri about one week
ago and threatened them that he was just released from the jail. Both accused
felt humiliated and planned to eliminate him.
On 03/07/15, all of
them came to District Park, Paschim Puri to consume smack. After consuming
smack, accused Deepak Gera attacked the deceased with knife and brick. Deceased
ran for his life towards Pocket-I, Paschim Puri. Accused Deepak Gera chased and
kept on attacking him till he breathed his last. After making sure that he is
dead, both accused fled away from there on motorcycle. During the course of
investigation, blood stained shirt worn by accused Deepak Gera, knife used in
the commission of murder and wallet of the deceased have been recovered at the
instance of both accused persons.
PROFILE OF ACCUSED:-
Accused Deepak Gera S/o Loknath
Gera R/o H.No-45/3, Janta Flats, Paschim Puri, Delhi, aged 21 years studied
upto 7th class. He got a private job in a company in Karol Bagh as a
field executive. He worked there for about one year. He was expelled from the
company as he was not regular. He started consuming smack which became a reason
for his expulsion from the company. He met co-accused Praveen who was also a
drug addict and befriended. His mother and father have strained relations and
both are living separately for a long time. He is presently living with his
mother in his maternal grandmother’s house in Paschim Puri, Delhi.
Co-accused Praveen Kumar S/o Bani Singh R/o Jhuggi No-10, BG-7 near BSES office, Paschim Vihar, aged 22 years studied upto 12th class. He took admission in BA Ist year but could not clear exams. His father is running a dairy in which he assists his father. Both accused are friends from school days and are smack addicts. They met deceased Rohit @ Kali in Inder Puri area where they were having smack. Deceased took smack from them after bullying and threatening them. Both accused felt disgraced and planned to take revenge. On the fateful day, they bring deceased Rohit @ Kali to District Park, Paschim Puri where they consumed smack and thereafter accused Deepak Gera attached deceased with knife and brick. After murdering the deceased both fled from there on motorcycle.
