Central Election Commission of Georgia Visited the Office of Chief Electoral Officer, Delhi

The Chairperson of Central Election Commission of Georgia H.E Ms. Tamar Zhvania visited the Office of Chief Electoral Officer, Delhi on 15.07.2015 to have an overview of the voter registration process and election related administrative setup in Delhi.

          On this occasion an interactive session was organised at O/o CEO, Delhi. 
         
The CEO Delhi stressed on the fact that Indian democracy is an example and torch-bearer to the world. . CEO, Delhi highlighted the fact that Delhi is a mega city which has a rich cultural, social and economic diversity which makes the task of election management a bit challenging. A presentation was given about Electoral Registration Process, initiatives for hassle free registration, fairness and transparency adopted in the process, photo electoral roll, poll day monitoring system, EVM, VVPAT and Vibrant  media. The CEO, Delhi also highlighted various initiatives taken to motivate the people to come out and vote such as the use of Sankalp Patra, voters awareness programs all across Delhi. The Chairperson lauded the efforts of CEO, Delhi in holding flawless elections in the recent past despite various challenges.

          The Chairperson also visited the Voters’ Centre of R.K. Puram Assembly Constituency (AC-44) to have hands on experience of the electoral registration process of the citizens at the Voters’ Centre. District Election Officer/DM Sh. Sanjay Kumar briefed her about various aspects of electoral registration and conduct of elections. A demonstration of the working of EVM (Electronic Voting Machine) was also given at the Mock Polling Station setup in the Voters’ Centre.

Imposter IPS Officer Arrested; an Academic Who Became a Cheat to Realize His Dream Unfulfilled

A team of Special Cell led by Inspectors Rahul Sawhney and Sanjay Kumar has arrested a cheat who impersonated as an IPS officer to cheat several persons in Delhi. On 23/02/2015,one Kultar Singh,s/o Late Raj Singh, r/o F-10, Gali No.2, Krishna Park, Tilak Nagar, New Delhi who runs a shop dealing with sale purchase of mobile phones in Gaffar Market of Karolbagh, Delhi made a complaint stating therein that a person in the name of ‘Satheesh Nair’ who had introduced himself as an IPS officer of Jaipur, Rajasthan, had come to his shop on 30/01/2015 and had purchased two mobile phones in exchange of two old phones by paying an amount of money. During the course of interaction,Satheesh Nair had shown his Identity Card to this complainant to convince him that he was an IPS officer presently posted in Jaipur, Rajasthan and was expecting his next posting in Delhi. MOST WANTED GANGSTER NAMELY GYANENDER @ GADGU REWARDEE OF RS.1 LAC ALONGWITH HIS ASSOCIATE RAJIV DAHIYA @ RAJU ARRESTED

Crime Branch has arrested two dreaded and desperate criminals namely (1) Gyanender @ Gadgu (29 yrs) s/o Mahender r/o Village Mandhothi, Distt. Jhajjar, Haryana, who is wanted in two sensational cases of murder of Haryana including one that of a brutal massacre, one case of attempt to murder of Badli, Delhi and 3 cases of extortion in Delhi & Haryana and (2) Rajeev Dahiya @ Raju (39 yrs) s/o Sukhbir Singh r/o R-95, Gali No. 15 A, Sawtanter Nagar, Narela, Delhi (permanent address-Village Nahari, Distt. Sonepat, Haryana), who is an absent BC of PS Narela, a bail jumper, a declared proclaimed offender in 2 murder cases and one case of Arms Act . At the time of apprehension, both the accused fired on police personnel, however, they were finally overpowered.
