A Gang of Cheats Busted with Arrest of Gang Leader Neeraj Kumar Singh @ Anand Gaurav
Crime Branch has apprehended a notorious cheat namely
Neeraj Kumar Singh r/o Aurangabad, Bihar who was involved in duping young boys
and girls in the name of providing them jobs in Railways with the help of other
gang members.
A complaint was received in Crime Branch that a
gang indulging in duping people specially young boys and girls in the name of
getting them jobs with Railways, is operating in the Laxmi Nagar area.
Acordingly, a team of Central Range led by ACP Ravinder Tyagi and consisting of
Inspr. Ashish Dubey, SI Rajeev Kakkar, ASI Vikrant, HCs Rajeev, Ajay, Sudhir,
Jitender, Praveen, Praveen Tomar, Mahavir, Cts Sohan and Karnal was constituted
under the supervision of Addl.DCP S.K. Singh and Addl.CP Alok Kumar to bust the
gang. A case was registered vide FIR No.102/15 u/s 419/420/34 IPC, P.S. Crime
Branch in this regard and search of the accused was made.
On
16.07.2015, on a tip off, the team rushed to Civic Centre, Kamla Market and the
gang leader Neeraj Kumar Singh was apprehended after a brief scuffle. He
confessed to have committed the crime.
He used to call the job seeker through his
telecaller after fetching their mobile numbers from job portals and would assure
them that they would get them job of Ticket Collector in Indian railways in
minister’s quota. For this, he used to charge Rs. 2,250/- for filling up
applications forms and then call them through his telecallers for medical
examination. He used to charge Rs.20 to 40 thousand for the same and send them
to Kharagpur for medical examination. His
other gang members namely Amit and D.K. Sharma would greet those job seekers.
They would take them to Kharagpur Railway Hospital and fraudulently subject
them to some personal checkups in the name of medical examination. After that,
he again used to call them for personal interview in Dhanbad or Khargpur and
further charge Rs. 40 to 80 thousand from them. Again Amit and D.K. Sharma used
to fool them and send them back home after collecting their documents without
any interview, citing one reason or the another for not conducting
interview.
In
this manner, he alongwith his other gang members had duped more than 20 persons
of their hard earned money.
The accused Neeraj Kumar singh @ Anand Gaurav (27
yrs) s/o Dhananjay @ Dharakshon Singh r/o Aurangabad, Bihar, completed BBA
degree from Sikkim Manipal University, Patna and MBA from Jain College,
Bangalore. Thereafter, he started working with Dominos Pizza, Bangalore as
Assistant Manager. But he was duped of Rs. 8,00,000/- by some people in the
same manner for getting him a job in railways. Frustrated with this, he adopted
the modus operandi and alongwith one of his friend and schoolmate Aman Prateek duped
several people in Patna. Then, he shifted his base to Delhi.
