Narcotics Cell Continues its Operation Against Drug Peddlers
The
ongoing operations of Crime Branch against the drug peddlers have once again
resulted in a good seizure of Narcotic contraband which were to be consumed in
Delhi. Narcotics Cell has arrested 4 persons in two separate incidents for
indulging in this menace in Delhi. This is the 6th catch of Narcotic
Drugs in the past 5 days by Narcotics Cell.
On the basis of information received
at Narcotics Cell, two teams led by ACP Ravinder Kumar Tyagi consisting of
Insprs. Akash Rawat, Kuldeep Singh, SI Karam Veer Singh, ASI Satbir Singh, HCs
Abdul Hakim, Dharmender, Sudhir Kumar, Kanwal Singh, Cts Ramdas, Sohanpal and
Sonu Tomar were constituted under the overall supervision of DCP M.A. Rizvi and
the following arrests/recoveries have been made:-

In first incident, an information was received by
ASI Satbir Singh of Narcotics Cell on 16.3.2015, that two persons namely Vinod
r/o Holambi Kalan and Sapan Rai r/o Sagarpur, Delhi, who used to bring ganja
(Marijuana) by road from Odisha and supply it in Delhi, would come in Mahindra
XUV, with a huge consignment of ganja. Information further entailed that these
persons would come at bus stand, Yamuna Bank Depot Metro Station for supplying
the consignment to a person named Murli. The police team laid a trap at Bus
Stand Yamuna Bank Metro Station and intercepted the Mahindra XUV and
apprehended two persons namely Vinod Kumar (28 years) s/o Suresh Kumar r/o
Metro Vihar, Phase-2, Holambi Kalan, Delhi, and Sapan Rai (48 years) s/o
Haribal Rai r/o Sagarpur, Delhi. On searching the vehicle, 200 kg of fine
quality ganja was recovered from their possession. The value of the recovered
ganja is Rs. 1 crore (approx.) in international market. A case vide FIR No.
39/2015 u/s 20/25/29 NDPS Act was registered at PS Crime Branch in this regard
and the accused were arrested.

In second incident, an information was received by
SI Karam Veer on 14.3.15, that two persons namely Alok Kumar and Uma Shankar,
both residents of Azamgarh, UP, are indulged in sale & supply of charas in
Delhi. The information further entailed that both of them would come at Club
Road, Punjabi Bagh, Delhi to deliver a huge consignment of charas to someone.
The police team laid a trap at the given place and accused persons Alok Kumar
(22 yrs) and Uma Shankar Singh (46 yrs) were apprehended and 5 kg fine quality
charas was recovered from them. A case vide FIR No.34/15, u/s 20/29 NDPS Act
was registered at PS Crime Branch in this regard and the accused have been
arrested.
PROFILE
& INTERROGATION:-
1.
Accused Sapan Rai disclosed that he is a resident
of village Orna Camp, PS Bodhghat, Tehsil Jagdalpur, District Bastar,
Chattisgarh. He is living in Delhi since his childhood. They are two brothers
and one sister and his parents work in a private company. He had studied upto 8th
standard and ran a restaurant/dhaba for 8-9 years at his native place but
it could not earn him profit and he suffered heavy losses. About 2-3 years ago,
he came in contact with one Ravi r/o Koraput, Odisha who was indulged in supply
of ganja. Ravi allured him with lucrative offers for supply of ganja from
Odisha to his conduits in Delhi. In desperate need for money, Sapan agreed and
started supplying ganja from Odisha to Delhi. About a month ago, he had also
supplied a big consignment of ganja in Delhi. Out of the proceeds of illicit
drugs, Sapan had purchased one Mahindra SUV-500 vehicle in cash in August 2014,
which has also been seized.

Vinod Kumar revealed that he hails from district
Alwar, Rajasthan and presently residing in the house of his mother-in-law at
Holambi Kalan Jhuggies, Delhi. His father expired about 13-14 years ago due to
asthma and they are 4 brothers and one sister. His mother alongwith his brother
and sisters live at his native village. After marriage, he started living with
his mother-in-law. He came to Delhi in the year 2008 and started driving a
goods vehicle. Then he came in contact with Sapan about a year ago. Sapan,
allured him with lucrative offers for supply of ganja from Odisha to Delhi. He
used to drive the vehicle in which the consignment used to be transported from Odisha
to Delhi and for each consignment, Sapan used to give him Rs. 20,000/-. About a
month ago, he had come to Delhi from Odisha with Sapan with another huge
consignment of ganja.

Accused Alok Kumar revealed that he has studied
upto high school in his native village. His parents are living at Pitam Pura
whereas Alok alongwith his younger brother and a sister lives with his
grandparents at his native village. His father works in a factory as labourer
in Delhi. One of Alok’s sister is married and she had deceitfully got the
ancestral agricultural land of the family, registered in her name from her
grandparents. Now, she has demanded Rs. 2 lac from her father to return the
land rights. To save the ancestral land, Alok required quick money and he
alongwith Uma Shankar started supplying charas in Delhi after procuring the
same from Nepal.
