Delhi Police organizes Women Safe Rally: Promotes Use of Helmets for Safe Riding (Photo Gallery)
“Women Safe
Rally” was organized by the Delhi Traffic Police on the occasion of the
International Women’s Day (8th March). More than 200 women two wheeler riders
participated in the rally. Lady Officers
of Delhi Police also participated in the rally.
Sh B S Bassi, Commissioner of Police Delhi flagged of the rally which
was organized to promote the use of helmets amongst the women riders and
pillion riders and encourage safe riding.
He also addressed the participants and enjoined them to spread the
message of road safety by being the role models for others. He also urged the women riders to use the
helmets and also strap them well while driving. In his interaction with the participants the
Commissioner of Police also encouraged them to take up training in unarmed
combat. This will enable and empower
women to be confident in public life.
The training will also make them physically mentally fit to
help the society.
On the
occasion of the rally women participants shared their experiences with the
fellow riders and other police officers.
To encourage the participants Sh Muketesh Chander, Special Commissoner
of Police Traffic, Delhi, Sh Anil Shukla, Joint Commissioner of Police,
Traffic, Delhi, Additional Commissioner of Police, Traffic Operations Sh Sharad
Agarwal and Sh Surender Singh Yadav, Additional Commissioner of Police
Headquarter were also present at the Baba Kharak Singh marg traffic training
park from where this 4 kilometer long rally was flagged off. The officers educated the participants by
sharing their professional experiences with them.
