Heist Of Rs. 15 Lac Solved
Crime Branch has worked out a sensational robbery of Rs. 15 lac of
West District by apprehending a desperate robber Pankaj Yadav (21 years) s/o
Suraj Yadav r/o Rajeev Nagar, Bhalswa Dairy, Delhi alongwith his juvenile
associate.
On 25/03/2015, information was received by HC Sunil Kumar of Northern
Range regarding movement of criminals involved in recent armed robbery of Rs.
15 lac from a courier company office in Mayapuri. A team headed by DCP Dinesh
Kumar Gupta, comprising ACP Ram Mehar, Insp. Baljeet Singh, SI Shiv Raj Tyagi,
HC Jagbir, HC Sunil Kumar, HC Pradeep, HC Sant Ram, HC Satbir and Ct. Suresh
and Ct. Ajay was constituted under the supervision of Addl.CP Ashok Chand
to act promptly and further develop the information.
The team laid a trap near Bhalswa Dairy red-light where two
persons arrived on a Pulsar motorcycle bearing registration
No. DL-5S-AE-4792 at the scheduled hour. The team immediately swung
into action and apprehended the motorcyclists at the instance of the informer. The
rider was identified as Pankaj Yadav and the pillion rider has been found to be
a Juvenile. During search, cash Rs. 2.85 lac was recovered from them. On
further enquiry, it revealed that they have committed a sensational robbery in
the office of a courier company in West district reported vide case FIR No. 64/15,
P.S. Maya Puri, Delhi. They have been booked under appropriate sections of
law.
During interrogation, it was revealed that the accused Pankaj
Yadav alongwith the juvenile and two more associates namely Rehan and Jagdish entered
the office of M/s Aramax Courier Company in Mayapuri. They tied the watchman on
gunpoint and took out the cash box, fixed in the wall of the office. After
removing the same, Rehan and Jagdish took it on motorcycle to their hideout.
Accused Rehan did not disclose the exact amount of heist. After 2 days, he gave
Rs.2.10 lac to each of them as their share. The juvenile had purchased the
recovered motorcycle for Rs. 20,000/- out of booty.
The accused Pankaj disclosed that they were planning to escape to
their native place in Uttar Pradesh with the robbed cash. He further
disclosed that the co-accused Rehan and Jagdish are residents of Burari area but
they left their houses after committing the robbery. Accused Rehan is the kingpin
who has reportedly also committed several other robberies alongwith different
gangs in various parts of Delhi and NCR.
The modus operandi of main accused Rehan is that
he collects the information from security guards about the place of keeping
cash/valuables, volume of cash, availability of security staff etc. He gives
hefty share to informer and also involves him to participate in the robbery
actively. The accused Pankaj Yadav used to work in M/s Aramax Courier Company
to collect couriers from the customers. He had knowledge about the location of
the cash box and, amount of cash and security staff. He gave all the details to
accused Rehan, who then planned and executed the robbery.
