INAUGURATION OF PROJECTS IN 3RD BN./DAP
Continuing
in the spirit of Police Week celebrations, Shri Bhim Sain Bassi IPS,
Commissioner of Police,
Delhi inaugurated the following projects of 3rd
Bn./Delhi Armed Police at Vikas Puri Police Lines, New Delhi on 24.02.2015 at
11.30 A.M.
Ø Subsidiary
Central Police Canteen: A welfare oriented self sustained
store providing good quality consumer products to Delhi Police personnel and
their families at prices cheaper than the open market. This Canteen is 5th
one to be opened in Delhi Police.
Ø CGHS
Wellness Centre: The Wellness Centre No.17-A of Central
Health Welfare Scheme was pressing need for Delhi Police personnel and other
Central Govt. employees residing in West District & South-West District.
Now medical assistance is at the door steps for majority
of government
employees.
Ø Passenger
Railway Reservation Counter: The idea to establish
a Passenger Railway Reservation Counter at Vikas Puri Police Lines is drawn on
the line of similar facility available at other institutions in Delhi for
reservation of railway tickets and to save man-power of Delhi Police, as 3rd
Bn. has to book railway tickets for approximately 80/100 police personnel
escorting 25/30 UTPs on daily basis. This
Reservation Counter is the first of its kind in Delhi Police.
Ø Opening
of Mother Dairy & Vegetable Kiosk: Opening of Mother Dairy
& Vegetable Kiosk to provide good quality dairy products & vegetables
at door step of 3500 jawans of this battalion, para-military forces viz.
Meghalaya Police, Rajasthan Armed Police, Mahila Bn. of CRPF residing in
barracks and 248 families living in Police Colony Vikas Puri/3rd Bn.
Delhi.
Ø Training
Manual/3rd Bn. : Sh. Arvind
Deep IPS, Spl. CP/Armed Police also presented a first copy of
Training
Manual to the Commissioner of Police.
It needs no emphasis that training should have the capacity to transform
the capability, skill and aptitude at the induction level training for grooming
new arrivals received on transfer to 3rd Bn. Delhi Armed Police, as
the onerous task of escorting & safeguarding of Under Trial Prisoners to
Courts, Hospitals, escorting the lost/missing children to restore them to their
parents etc. all over the country lies on the shoulder of officers/men of this
battalion. The training manual has been
produced to enhance functional efficiency, supervisory competence and behavioral
skills of all police personnel of 3rd Bn. while handling the Under
Trial Prisoners.
The
Commissioner of Police, Delhi also planted a tree in the play ground in front
of Administrative Block.
Sh. S.K. Tewari, DCP/3rd Bn. welcomed all
the distinguished guests and Sh. Arvind Deep IPS, Spl. CP/Armed Police
addressed the gathering and expressed the achievements of 3rd Bn.
The Commissioner of Police, Delhi also addressed the function and appreciated
the sincere efforts & goals achieved. The programme ended with a vote of
thanks by Dr. A.K. Singh IPS, Addl. CP/Armed Police, Delhi.
