Land Grabbing Racket Being Run From Tihar Jail Busted

Crime Branch has arrested two criminals namely Bijender @ Vijay @ Gadgu (27 years) s/o Ranbir Singh r/o Village Pipli, PS Kharkhoda, Sonipat (Haryana) and Pawan Maan @ Pona (24 years) s/o Surat Singh r/o RZ-151, Roshan Vihar, Najafgarh, Delhi in a bid to get vacated a big plot in Najafgarh. One country made pistol alongwith four live cartridges and one stolen motorcycle have been recovered from them. One case of MV theft of PS Bindapur and two blind cases of indiscriminate firing in a bid of land grabbing to grab a plot of PS Najafgarh have been worked out.

            On 13.12.14 at about 8 PM, two masked motorcycle borne assailants came to the plot occupied by one Nafe Singh @ Mantri at Roshan Pura, Najafgarh. They opened indiscriminate fire at the plot and asked its occupants to come out. When no one came out, they again opened fire and left after threatening that no one will be allowed to stay in the property. A case vide FIR No.1173/14 u/s 336/506/34 IPC was registered at PS Najafgarh against unknown persons.

            On the intervening night of 18/19.12.14, a similar misadventure was repeated by the accused persons and another case vide FIR No.1192/14 u/s 336,506,34 was registered at PS Najafgarh, Delhi.

            Both the incidents were captured on CCTV camera but the accused persons could not be identified as they were wearing masks.

            On 24.12.14, specific information was received about the involvement of the above stated desperado and a team led by Inspr. P C Yadav and consisting SI Sandeep Yadav, HCs Dinesh, Santraj, Suresh, Kartar, Narender, Cts. Vijender, Satyawan and Sandeep  was constituted under the close supervision of ACP KPS Malhotra, overall guidance of DCP Bhisham Singh and Addl.CP Ashok Chand was constituted. The trap was laid in the area of Dwarka and the accused Bijender and Pawan Maan were apprehended.

            Interrogation of accused persons revealed that they had fired at the plot to terrorise the occupants at the instance of Sandeep Mental, who is operating from Tihar Jail. Brother of Sandeep Mental namely Jagdip @ Sonu had provided the logistic support i.e. firearms and ammunition to them.

            Accused Bijender @ Vijay @ Gadgu was lodged in the Tihar jail with Sandeep Mental. He came out on bail on 4.12.14 with the help of Sandeep Mental who had arranged surety for him.

            The plot in question was previously occupied by one Pradeep Banka and his brother Jaswant @ Moni. Sandeep Mental had murdered Pradeep Banka in the year 2012 for taking over the plot. However, since Sandeep Mental had been arrested and was lodged in jail, Jaswant @ Moni took courage to sold the said plot to Nafe Singh @ Mantri, belonging to Manjit Mahal Gang, who is presently in possession of the said plot. Sandeep Mental desperately wanted to take over the said plot, and was furious at this development.

  

1.                  Bijender @ Vijay @ Gadgu (27 years) s/o Ranbir Singh r/o Village Pipli, PS Kharkhoda, Sonipat, Haryana is a school dropout. In the year 2011, he was involved in a case of car jacking of PS Nangloi and in the same year he committed the murder of one Patwari r/o village Bhatgaon, Sonipat in a gangwar. He was lodged in cases of car jacking and attempt to murder in Tihar Jail with Sandeep Mental.

2.                  Pawan Maan @ Pona (24 years) s/o Surat Singh r/o RZ-151, Roshan Vihar, Najafgarh, Delhi is also a school dropout. He is close friend of Jagdip @ Sonu, brother of Sandeep Mental. He was roped in the crime by Jagdip @ Sonu.

        Both the accused persons have been arrested under proper sections of law.
