The victim reported to the Police that she is a permanent resident of Hoshiyar Pur, Punjab and presently residing in a rented accommodation in Hari Nagar area. She is working as a Senior Resident doctor in Delhi. On the fateful day, she left for her duty by her scooty Activa, at about 9.20 AM when she reached in front of Chawla Jewellers, Main Market Rajouri Garden, two boys riding an unknown motorcycle came from behind and the rider lifted her bag containing a pink colour purse, five debit cards, PAN card, Driving License, mobile phone (iPhone 4S) and a cash of Rs. 5000/- which was placed between her legs. The pillion rider flung an acid-like aqueous solution on her. Due to the burning sensation, she stopped her scooty and started shouting for help. She sustained burns on her right eye, face and right hand. Accordingly, on her statement a case vide FIR No. 1525/2014 U/s 394/326A/34 IPC was registered at PS Rajouri Garden and the investigation was carried out earnestly.

The teams worked relentlessly and activated
their intelligence. Police teams sprung into action and shortlisted all the
friends and colleagues of the victim. The police teams
were also questioning her friends and colleagues to determine whether she had
any personal enmity or if anyone held a grudge against her. It was revealed that the accused persons had
chased the victim from her house and harmed her as they got an opportunity in
the market area. Hence, the robbery angle was ruled out. The police teams
focused on personal enmity.
Dr. Ashok
Yadav, a friend of the victim was zeroed in.
He was put to sustained interrogation. Initially, he tried to hoodwink
the police teams, but during several rounds of interrogation and questioning
Dr. Ashok Yadav broke down and blew the lid off the plot. He stated that he wanted to propose her for marriage but the
latter was not responding positively. Dr. Ashok Yadav narrated this fact to his
close friend Vaibhav and added that he wants to teach her a lesson. Vaibhav informed that he knew some persons
who can carry out our plot. Vaibhav
arranged two juveniles for executing this plot in lieu of Rs.25,000/-. Vaibhav
handed over the money along with photos of the victim to the juveniles. Few
days ago, they practiced this exercise to make their plot a success. After
committing the crime, they assembled at a park in the locality and hide the
snatched bag of the victim.
On further verification, it is found
that the motorcycle used in the commission was stolen from the area of Hari
