Robbers Arrested by Metro Police

With the arrest of two person (1). Pawan Kumar S/o Sh. Mahesh CHaudhry R/o H.No.- C-70, Pandav Naghar, New Delhi and native Village Barhana, Distt. Bulandshahr. Age-21 Years. (2). Sonu Kumar S/o Sh. Ramseh Kumar R/0 Village Kamal Pur Khalsa, Distt. Amroha, (U.P.) Age-22 Years. Metro Police has worked out sensitive case of robbery in the secured area of DMRC extensively reported in the news paper and recovered the looted money Rs 10.55 Lakh. This robbery was carried out by Ex.- TOM-Operator of DMRC Pawan Kumar to pay back the huge debts of marriage of his sister.

Incident:        That on 11-4-16, an information was received from PCR at 6:31 AM at two boys stabbed the Station Controller of Rajindra Place Metro Station and robbed him away of Rs-12,00,000/-. On receiving the information SHO Raja Garden, ACP North and DCP/Metro of Delhi Police reached the spot along with staff. The Injured was already found removed to Ganga Ram Hospital. During the inspection of spot it was found that the station controller used to sit in his office on the top floor near the metro tracks. The room/office of the station controller was thoroughly inspected and lot of blood was found on the floor in the middle of the room and the money chest/safe was found partially opened. Crime team of the area was summoned at the spot. The statement of the injured Kunal Kishor (age 30yrs) Station Controller S/o Sh. Mehesh Chaudhary R/o H.No C-70, Pandav Nagar,New Delhi, was got recorded in which he stated that at about 5:40 am on 11.04.16. When he was present in his office he saw through window pane of the door that two boys with covered faces with pollution mask for some help. As soon as he opened the door to inquire the matter. The boys entered into his office. One of them caught him from behind while another started stabbing him. After injuring him they ran away with cash about Rs 12 Lakh and his personal bag containing pan card, I. Card, voter card, Cheque book etc. After recording his statement, collecting his MLC on which Doctor has opined the injuries sharp and grievous and spot inspection the case FIR No 40/16, Dated 11.04.16, U/s 394/397/34 IPC was got registered at P.S Raja Garden Metro. The investigation of case was handed over to the SHO.

            During the investigation three teams of Metro police officials were formed under the leader ship of 1. Inspr. Dinesh SHO of Raja garden Metro 2. Inspr. Babber Bhan , SHO, Yamuna Depot Metro and 3. Inspr. Jaldhari Meena SHO Shatri park Metro. All the three teams were assigned particular jobs after detailed briefing by the DCP/metro.

            During the investigation it was found that on the date and time of incident one of the two accused has used a metro travelling card issued on 8.4.16. from kaushambi Metro railway station. Further more this card was found used also on 09.04.16 at various stations. The CCTV footage of the issuing station kaushambi and other station were seen and thoroughly examined. It was revealed that this metro travel card having a specific and peculiar coded no. was got issued by Pawan Kumar S/o Sh. Moolcahnd on 08.04.16 from kaushambi Metro railway station. The identification of Pawan Kumar was got established after matching of photo shown in the CCTV footage. It was further revealed that Pawan Kumar was previously working as a TOM operator (labors contractor) at Rajindera Place Metro Railway Station. He was sacked by the DMRC when he was found involved in a quarrel with the station controller. The verification form of DMRC pertaining to sacked contractor Pawan Kumar was obtained and all his contacts, address, friends and relatives were listed for further interrogation. The Teams of SHO Yamuna Bank Depot and SHO Shastri Park Metro were assigned the job for identification and apprehension of the accused person. SHO Yamuna Bank Depot along with his team made extensive efforts it in the area of Vijay Nagar, Ghaziabad, where Pawan Kumar was found residing as per the DMRC records while SHO Shastri park Metro targeted at the friends at his native place in District Amorha U.P. The address given by Pawan Kumar in DMRC record were found incorrect so the member of the team made door to door local and spot inquires to found the where about of the culprits. During this extensive exercise the house and shop of Pawan Kumar was found locked in Vijay Nagar area for the last about 3 days. After this both the   teams analyzed the facts gathered during the investigation so for and decided to target him at his native place. Both the team of SHO Yamuna Bank Depot and SHO Shastri park Metro headed to this native place in district Amroha U.P. and apprehended Pawan Kumar along with one of his associates Sonu Kumar from their house. Both the accused person interrogated and they confessed their involvement in the crime. About 10 lac 55 thousand have been recovered. About remaining amount inquiry is being conducted. One mobile phone has also been recovered.

Modus Operandi-   The accused Pawan Kumar had already worked as a TOM- Operator in DMRC at Rajindra Place Metro Station so he was well versed and acquainted with the topo- graphy of the Metro Station and the moments of employs in the office of the Controller. He had a fight while working in DMRC with Kunal Kishor following which he was sacked in December 2015. Besides this his sister was got married in 2014 and his father was under heavy debts due to the marriage. So he decided to commit robbery while putting pollution masks on their faces to avoid identification through CCTV coverage in the wee-hours of the morning and escaped un-noticed.
