2 Burglars Arrested in South Delhi

A police team of PS Vasant Kunj South, South District has arrested two burglars namely Surender Singh @ Sonu, age 28 years r/o Aaya Nagar, Delhi and Shyam Kumar @ Nanky, age 25 years r/o District Gonda, UP and solved 5 cases of burglary / theft.  With the arrest of accused persons, the team recovered stolen cash Rs. 6 lacs, 2 gold mangalsutras and mobile phone.

Brief facts :

          On 31.03.16, an incident of day burglary was reported at Flat No. D-6, Santusthi Apartments, Vasant Kunj wherein jewelry articles and other valuables were stolen from the house.  On the same day, another burglary reported at D-8, Vasant kunj wherein cash Rs. 6 lacs and costly mobile phone was stolen from the house of an Air Hostess.  In this case, lock of the house was found intact but cash Rs. 6 lacs, which the complainant had saved to purchase a new car in Navratras and an expensive mobile phone was stolen from the house.  In this regard, cases vide FIR Nos. 261/16 u/s 380/454/411 IPC and 262/16 u/s 380/411 IPC were registered at PS V.K. South and investigation taken up.

Investigation :

In order to arrest the culprits involved in such criminal activities, a police team comprising Inspr. Mahender Singh Dahiya, SI Rakesh Kumar, SI Raj Kumar, HC Reetesh, HC Rakesh, Ct Devender, Ct Rahul, Ct Inderjeet, Ct Ashok and Ct. Sachin Mann led by Inspr. Virender Jain, SHO/V.K. South under the supervision of Shri K.P. Kukrety, ACP/Vasant Vihar was constituted.  CCTV footages of the area were scrutinized at large and the investigation was zeroed on 2-3 suspects whose activities were found suspicious.

          During further investigation, activities of a property dealer namely Surender Singh @ Sonu was found suspicious.  On receipt of specific input, Surender Singh was arrested by the police team.  During interrogation, he tried to mislead the police team but later he broke down. On his instance, stolen jewelry articles were recovered.

          In another case, one Shyam Singh, a car cleaner was apprehended and later on deep interrogation, he broke down and confessed his involvement in the crime. On his instance, stolen cash Rs. 6 lacs and mobile phone (make Apple 5S) was recovered.
