Murder attempt foiled by arrest of two hardened criminals.

In yet another anti-gangster operation launched by Crime Branch of Delhi Police, the Special Team of Crime Branch has succeeded in nabbing two inter-state desperate criminals of Ajay Barwala Gang namely Rahul Rana @ Sunny (26 yrs) s/o Sanjay Rana r/o Village Barwala, Delhi, & Vikash @ Vicky (24 yrs) s/o Kuldeep Sahrawat r/o H.No.13 Village Ramjanpur, Alipur, Delhi, They are previously involved in 6 sensational cases of murder and robbery. Two loaded weapons, i.e. one sophisticated country made pistol (.315 Bore) alongwith 7 live cartridges and one country katta (.32 bore) alongwith 4 live cartridges have been recovered from them. An Alto car has also been recovered from their possession.

INFORMATION & TEAM: -

        On 06.03.2016, a secret input was received that two desperate criminals namely Rahul Rana @ Sunny and Vikash @ Vicky who are involved in several cases of murder, attempt to murder & robbery, would go Begampur via Barwala Road, Sec-36 Rohini/crossing Bhagwan Mahavir Road to kill the brother of Devender Rathi at around 5:00 pm in a white Alto car bearing No.4185. Secret informer further confirmed that they can be apprehended alongwith illegal weapons may be recovered, if a raid is conducted.

        Accordingly, a team led by ACP Jitender Singh, consisting of Inspr. Satish Kumar, ASI Baljeet Singh, HCs Parveen, Ravinder, Cts Anand Pal, Ravi Khari, Sohan Lal and Parveen was constituted under the close supervision of DCP Dr. Rajeev Sharma to nab them.

OPERATION & INTERROGATION: -

        On 07.03.2016, working on a reliable tip-off, a trap was laid at Barwala Road, Sec-36 Rohini/crossing Bhagwan Mahavir Road at around 4:30 pm. At around 5:15 PM, one white Alto car No. DL3CB 4185 came from Barwala Road which was intercepted at the instance of the secret informer by the police team with the help of a private car. As soon as the said Alto car was stopped, the driver was overpowered by ASI Baljeet Singh & HC Parveen while another occupant on the front seat was overpowered by HC Ravinder & Ct Sohan by showing exemplary courage alongwith their loaded guns without giving any chance to them to fire or cause casualty by their swift action. Both the weapons were found loaded, i.e. one country made pistol (.315 Bore) with seven live cartridges from Rahul Rana @ Sunny and one country katta (.32 bore) with four live cartridges recovered from Vikash @ Vicky. The recovered arms and ammunition were seized. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No.47/16 dated 08.04.2016 u/s 25/27 Arms Act, PS Crime Branch, Delhi was registered in this regard.   

        During sustained interrogation, accused Rahul Rana @ Sunny disclosed that he has done B.A. from MD University through correspondence. Due to bad company, he got involved in criminal activities and thereafter became the member of the notorious gang of ‘Ajay Barwala Gang”. 

        He further disclosed that Ajay Barwala met him in Haryana Jail and belongs to his village. He again met Ajay after he was released from jail. Ajay jumped parole and killed one Devender Rathi in Jan 2016 with whom a dispute of cable operations was going on. A case in this regard is registered at PS Begam Pur and Ajay is still absconding. After death of Devender Rathi, his brother is looking after the cable operations. So Ajay decided to eliminate the brother of Devender Rathi. Ajay met him near KMP Highway (Haryana) and asked him to kill the brother of Devender Rathi. He procured the arms from one Sonu r/o Kirthal, Baghpat, UP and contacted Vikas @ Vicky r/o Ramzan Pur, Alipur, Delhi, who was recently released from Jail and they were going to execute the murder of Devender Rathi as per plan.

        On sustained interrogation, accused Vikash @ Vicky corroborated the above version of Rahul @ Sunny. He further disclosed that his father had committed suicide and due to financial crisis, he dropped his studies at secondary level. Due to bad company, he started committing crimes and was also associated with the notorious criminals. He disclosed to be involved in four cases including robbery, murder & Arms Act. In 2011, he murdered his uncle due to some ongoing property dispute. After release from jail, he robbed a car, hence he was again arrested by PS Bahadurgarh Police in robbery and Arms Act Case. On 25.3.2016, he was released from Haryana Jail.

        Further investigation of the case is in progress and raids are being conducted to nab the source of arms i.e Sonu r/o Kirthal (Baghpat) UP and Ajay Barwala his gang leader, after obtaining the P/C remand of accused.
