Nangloi : Extortion Case of Rs 50 lacs Worked Out

Joint Teams of PS Nangloi and Special Staff/West District have cracked the extortion case in which demand was Rs 50, with the following arrest:

PROFILE:

1.    Mohd Atik @ Bobby s/o Izaharul Hassan r/o A-218 Budh Bazar Road J J Colony Nangloi Camp No 2 Delhi. Age 40 yrs. He has studied upto 10^th standard. He is a Property Dealer and also operates Photostat and STD PCO in his office.

2. Satwant Singh @ Shunty s/o Harbhans Singh r/o plot no 691 Shani Vihar Gali No 3 Mundka, Delhi.  Age 28 yrs. He has studied upto 8^th standard. He is working at the office of the property dealer as commission agent in renting and sale of properties.

3. Udham Singh @ Tinku s/o Balbir Singh r/o S-3/31 Swarn Park Rajdhani Park Delhi. Age 29 yrs. He is graduate and operates a Tempo Transport office in Rajdhani Park Nanlgoi, Delhi.

BRIEF FACT  :

The complainant a resident of Nangloi Delhi gave a complaint at PS Nangloi on 22.03.2016 that on 17 & 18/03/2016 he got extortion calls from a particular mobile phone on his mobile phone. The caller has demanded Rs 50 Lacs as protection money otherwise he will kill complainant’s son. He further said he is speaking from Tihar Jail. He again threatened him that if he will not pay Rs 50 Lacs, his one son will be murdered before Holi. On this, FIR dated 22/03/2016 U/S 387/507 IPC was registered and investigated by local police at PS Nangloi Delhi.

The complainant recorded the extortion calls and tried to linger on the matter on the pretext that he does not have so much money. He has taken loan from different banks for his business. During investigation, it was revealed that the alleged caller has made the call from various locations on different dates. Sim Card used for making call was found to be obtained on fake ID.

Considering the gravity of the case, teams of Special Staff/West District & PS Nangloi were constituted to crack the case and nab the criminals.                  

RECOVERY

1. Mobile phone instrument used in making extortion call

2. SIM Cards obtained on fake ID’s.

3. Photograph used on the customer application form through which alleged SIM was obtained.

DETAILS OF TEAM

On the basis of secret information joint teams of Special Staff & local Police were constituted. Team of Special Staff comprising of SI Charan Singh, ASI Ishwar Singh, ASI Bhawnesh Kumar, ASI Mohan Lal, HC Shashi Kant, HC Sunil, HC Vinod, Ct Rajesh, Ct Vikrant & Ct Divya Verma, headed by Inspr. Surender Singh Rathee, in supervision of Sh. Dinesh Kumar ACP Operation Cell West District. The team of local police comprising of SI Ajay, Ct Sandeep, Ct Sanjay, headed by Inspr. Ramphal-SHO PS Nangloi, in supervision of Sh. Anand Sagar ACP Nangloi West District.

The teams apprehended Satwant Singh @ Shunty on the basis of secret information from Nangloi, Delhi. During further interrogation he revealed that he along with Amit of Village Mundka, Mohd Atik @ Bobby and Udham Singh committed this crime. Thereafter, at his instance Mohd Atik @ Bobby & Udham Singh were also arrested from Nangloi on 08/04/2016. Amit is still absconding.

INTERROGATION

           On sustained interrogation, it revealed that Mohd Atik @ Bobby is a property dealer. He came in contact of complainant regarding transaction of property but the deal could not be materialized. Mohd Atik @ Bobby during this interaction came to know that the complainant is financially very sound. The business of property dealing of Mohd Atik @ Bobby was not going well. He has taken loan of about 18 lacs at an interest of 4 % per month and was to pay about 72,000/- as interest per month. He was in great need of money to repay the loan amount. In this regard, he planned to extort money from the complainant. He developed this idea after seeing an episode of a TV serial. He gathered information about the family members and business of the complainant. 

             He hatched criminal conspiracy with Amit of Village Mundka, Shunty and Udham Singh in Swaran Park Mundka. Amit is known to Bobby since three-four years due to property dealings. Shunty is working in the office of Amit, whereas Udham Singh is relative of Amit. They all planned criminal conspiracy to earn easy and big money by threatening & extorting money from the complainant.  As per plan, Shunty & Udham procured alleged SIM on Fake ID. They purchased a new mobile phone. They made a racee of the route and office of the complainant  and Shunty made extortion calls to the complainant on 17 & 18/03/2016 from Delhi and Bahadurgarh  (Haryana). They threatened to pay Rs 50 Lacs otherwise his son will be murdered. They also planned to attack the complainant on his way to office to terrorize and to force to give protection Money to them.

               Amit s/o Omkar Singh is absconding. Raids are being conducted to arrest him at possible hideouts /places.  Further investigation is underway. Staff who have done the above good work are being suitably rewarded.
